business history
Michael and Paul began their careers in high school recording their own bands and eventually moved on to recording other local bands. During that time, Clay was filming music videos and documentaries in association with 'the building.' In 2002, Michael, Paul, Karen, and their friend Adam upgraded their recording equipment, took out a lease on a warehouse, and formally established The Building Studios, LLC-- a full service audio recording facility located off of Essen in the heart of Baton Rouge. In a year's time, they recorded close to fifty bands (see samples below) and gained invaluable experience in the recording industry, before closing that studio in order to pursue their educations and gain outside experience before coming together and re-opening The Building Studios again in 2007.
